In 2016, Dan decided it was high time to chase his passion for guiding folks on wild outdoor escapades, thus creating MCO. It all started with hunting, an addiction that led him to work with other guides and outfitters, diving headfirst into the thrilling life of a hunting outfitter. Stalking prey and finding "the shooter" for clients became Dan's newfound obsession. During this adventure, he crafted his own unique style and vision for MCO. Initially, we rented land for hunting, dreaming of owning our very own slice of wilderness.

Zip ahead three years, bouncing between the Hoh Valley and Sequim, and in January 2019, we snagged our own plot of paradise—a gigantic miracle! Although not quite ready for it, when the universe gifts you a dream, you don't say, "Nah, maybe later." You grab on tight and prepare for the wild ride!

We rolled out trailers to live in, pitched wall tents for entertaining, and hauled water like pioneers. For our first year, our facilities were charmingly rustic—think number two shovel. If you're puzzled, look it up! We carved out a cozy nook to call home while taming the land and carving access roads. We camped out at what’s now known as Site 1 for a year, then swung open the campground gates in March 2020—talk about timing! We climbed to higher ground on the property, sprouting more sites, and exploring where our future home would rise.

From 2020-2025, we've been living the homesteader's dream, layering love, sweat, and happy tears into MCO, turning it into an outdoor paradise one epic adventure at a time.
